More than 24 hours after the life-changing Powerball draw, one lucky Australian is holding a ticket worth $100 million - but they might not even know it yet.
The winning entry from Thursday night’s massive Powerball draw (Draw 1517), held on June 12, was bought at Bondi Junction Newsagency & Internet Café on Oxford Street in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. This golden ticket is the only Division One winning entry, instantly making the holder one of Australia’s newest multimillionaires.
But there’s a twist - no one has come forward to claim the prize.
Because the ticket wasn’t registered, The Lott has no way to contact the winner. Lottery officials are urging anyone who bought a ticket in Sydney’s east to check it immediately.
“There are 100 million reasons why someone in Sydney’s eastern suburbs should check their Powerball ticket today,” said Eliza Wregg, spokesperson for The Lott. “It’s possible the winner is walking around unaware they’ve just become one of Australia’s richest people.”

Excitement at the Newsagency
The Bondi Junction store where the winning ticket was sold is celebrating the historic moment.
“It’s absolutely legendary,” said Manish, the store owner. “This is the biggest win we’ve ever had. I’m going to reward the team member who sold that ticket. Hopefully, the winner is one of our regulars - but it could be a tourist too!”
Since the newsagency is located near a major train station close to Bondi Beach, it's possible the winner is just passing through and unaware of their life-changing windfall.
What Happens Now?
Because there was only one Division One winner in the entire country, the full $100 million prize belongs to a single person.
Until that person checks their ticket and contacts The Lott, the mystery - and the suspense - continues.
